By choosing Numafa’s machines, HB RTS opted for security. ‘Ours is a very dynamic process. For example, we have seven different types of CBL crates and nine different types of pallets. This system can flexibly accommodate quick changes in the size of crate or pallet. You have a tried-and-true concept,’ says André Meijer, project engineer at HB RTS. ‘Look at the Dolav cleaner in Boxtel, for example. It adds stability to the process, in terms of output as well. That is simply excellent. This machine shows us that a high-quality machine and a clear user interface allow you to quickly resolve any malfunctions and maintain your output.

A relaxed acquisition process with excellent project support

HB RTS says the acquisition was a relaxed process. ‘We presented a challenge and asked for a solution. We brought our own plan to the table, but we were also curious to hear what Numafa was thinking and why. We want to set up a process that the cleaning and handling installations make up a large part of, but we lack some knowledge of such machines. We had to bring those two perspectives together. In the end, it was quite a relaxed and fast process.’

When we ask about HB RTS’s experiences with the installation and initiation, they mention the product support in particular. ‘Every new process has its start-up issues. Those are unavoidable. You take everything seriously and won’t stop until you’ve come up with a solution. You also take the time to understand our difficulties, so we can make an informed decision. That is very positive.’

Efficiency and sustainability, win-win for HB RTS

Numafa’s handling systems have resulted in a major boost in productivity for HB RTS. ‘A single stacker now does what we used to need two stackers for. That is a significant improvement. In terms of staff, as well. Whereas we used to require two people, now we only need one person. It makes a real difference in terms of staffing as well.’ HB RTS also praises the robustness of the machines. ‘You get a sturdy low-tech machine with high-tech controls. That makes it a very smart system with a high capacity. This simplicity combined with the intelligence to handle that high capacity, that is what you want.’

Numafa’s handling systems not only help HB RTS achieve its productivity targets; they also contribute to the company’s sustainability goals. ‘On the one hand, those machines focus purely on your output, your productivity and quality. That is good, of course, because it is the core of the service you provide. On the other hand, there is a strong focus on improving sustainability. You have quite a few ideas in that regard. About how we can avoid losing water. Water loss also means you have reheat a lot of water. How can you reduce the amount of water you have to reheat? There are many factors involved and it is nice that you can offer advice and present solutions.’
